Mom's 1953 Europe Road Trip: Italian Riviera

From Mom's Europe trip diary, in the "PLACES VISITED" section:
October 3, Saturday – Road between Pisa and San Remo, Italy
Drove by and saw Leaning Tower.  Drove through some mountains on way to Genoa (Genoa appeared to be a very clean port and had a fine harbor).  From Genoa we drove along the Italian Riviera (very beautiful - the Mediterranean seemed blue in some spots and green in others).  It looked very calm and peaceful and the beaches in all the towns appeared to be real fine.  We had brought lunch from hotel in Pisa so we didn't stop anyplace.

According to the "HOTELS STOPPED AT" section of the trip diary, my mother and her friends stayed at the Columbia Hotel in San Remo, Italy.
