Wordless Wednesday: Hotel Galvez, Galveston, Texas - built 1911

View of the Hotel Galvez from the seawall in Galveston, Texas, January 8, 2012.  My maternal grandparents spent their honeymoon here in July 1926.  Stay tuned for a future post on how I figured that out.

    Great picture! Excellent views I bet. Did you stay here or just visit that afternoon?

    Tracy, when we found out fog was delaying our cruise ship and we would not be able to board until 6 PM, we went here for their famous brunch. We hung around until around 4 - Breathless sat on a comfy couch and read, and I walked over to the seawall and on the beach and took some pictures, and also walked around the hotel (inside and out), which is how I figured out my grandparents had stayed here. The concierge here was very helpful, and I want to stay here the next time we do a cruise out of Galveston!
