The photo was taken in the backyard of the home of my grandparents, Elizabeth Florence Massmann Pape (1902-2000) and Paul Robert Pape (1896-1970), at 2093 West Lunt in the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago. It was taken at the same time as another photo of the newlyweds.
I think the man in this photo might be Uncle Das' younger brother, Gerald R. "Gerry" Dietz (1932-2017), whose obituary notes he was a Korean War veteran (like my dad). Here is a photo of Gerry from that obituary - I think it is the same man:
The image with Moe is from a Kodachrome slide I found in the study of my late father, Frederick Henry Pape (1929-2017), and was most likely taken by him.
