Military Monday Memories: "Unloading Bombs from Truck" - 1952

More photos from the military scrapbook of my dad, Frederick Henry Pape, who is pictured in the photo at left.  These were taken at the K-1 (Pusan West) Air Base in Korea in late 1952.

  1. I think the unloading is in Busan. The mountain has the same features as Jangsan in Busan at the K-9. I am looking for reference photos.

  2. Jens-Olaf, thank you for commenting, and you may be right. My dad talked with me about these photos when he was about 85, so he may not have remembered correctly, or I may have incorrectly written what he said. He died November 6, 2017, so I can't ask him any more. He was at K-1 when he first arrived in Korea in October 1952, as a runway was being rebuilt on K-9, but the moved back over to K-9 in late December 1952, and he was at K-9 the rest of his time in Korea, through March 1953.
